So I purchased a used Apex and the display cable was accidentally cut. I’d there a way to repair it? I tried splicing them together by twisting each cable end together and using electrical tape to secure it and that was a no go. The wire is really thin so I’m not sure if there’s even a way to do it. I tied opening the back of the display to see if I could re-solder it but the screws were pretty rusted and stripped the head.

The lead wire is indeed very thin. I've had success soldering a standard USB cable to the circuit board in the display to replace the thin, stock cable. The thicker USB cable isn't as nice as the stock one but it works reliably.
