As you can tell by the title, I am fixing to TRY to make my own LR for my 40 gal. Do people like Mitch and Ramon have any suggestions or tips for a noob in this department. Heck even garf is fairly uncear on whar recipe works best or even how long of curing time is needed. I'll give a few frags to anyone who wants to drive to Lawrenceville and give me a 10 min demo! ;)

Cool sounds easy enough... Make it in the sand mold, let it harden for a few hours, "cure" it for a few weeks (or months) and then plop it in... I think I can manage that. Is there any way to speed up the PH down time?!? It would be nice to have the rock ready in about a month when the tank is done cycling the sand.

I was thinking about using this to make some large flat pieces to make caves in my next tank and for layering stuff like LR in a refugium. Anyone know how it's strength compares to real LR?

This is the best I can do for you:

Ramone seems to be the one who could probably help you out best locally.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
