Slow Grower,Pretty much like most other macro's... You got a nice bush of it...looks good. Since it grows slow and have nice color, must just keep it in the DT instead of the fuge....Where you get it?

lol... i ordered it from the same guy a couple of months ago.. thats his mother colony,, i laugh because he told me he'd be sending a small colony of it... i got a skinny single stalk 1 inch piece. dont even know what corner of my tank it got blown into.. nice piece while it lasted though..

Flame Algae, (Bryothamnion sp.</em>), is a red bushy macro algae with small flame shaped "leaves". It is calcified and rigid. Initially growing in all shapes and directions,we feel it looks best when trimmed into a circular shape, as we have done in the item description picture. It is easily cared for, doing well in low light, (1-2 watts per gallon on a 10 hour photocycle), as well as in brighter lighting. The brighter the light, the darker the macro and vice versa. The macro can be easily trimmed, and the cuttings can be superglued to a rock or shell to start another bush.

It grows at a moderate to slow pace, and is a better candidate for the display aquarium as opposed to a refugium.

That's some pretty awesome looking algae. I would keep that in the display tank for sure!
