Flow for a Fowlr?

Is 16.5 times/640 gph on a 40g breeder turnover good or to much? Looks like a hurricane in there.

I don’t usually do FOWLR tanks, but I agree that seems excessive. I would reduce that to under (10x) 400gph, if not even down to (7.5x) 300gph. Even that 7.5x may be on the high side of normal for FOWLR.

Be sure to account for loss due to head pressure when choosing a pump. (I.e., the change in gph due to how high the pump needs to push water upwards to your display tank)
