I have a maxijet 1200 and it blows everything away in my 55G. I want to buy a powerhead that provides good flow for a 55G without my frags flying everywhere. I'm thinking something with like 600GPH would do the trick. Do I need 2 of them? Any recommendations on which powerhead to get for my 55G?

Nice mod video, but I decided to use the maxi-jet 1200 in the 55G until I upgrade. My clowns and corals seems to like all that flow. My xenias are blowing everywhere and I cant see them open and close anymore. Is there such things as too much flow? And do I leave the powerhead on 24/7?

Yes there is such a thing as too much flow. Some corals, mainly sps, will experience flow burn (idk what it's really called) in areas of extreme flow such as right at your return outlet. but your xenias are fine they aren't pulsing because they don't need to work for the food but if you turn off the flow they should start pulsing in a minute or 2

yea i would move it and if it is spreading id frag that branch a good inch back from where the white stops so that it wont kill the rest of the colony. and you could always just glue that to another frag plug and if it comes back youll have another frag
