Can someone suggest a flow rate and pump for a Phosphate reactor? I should receive in the next couple of days a Kent phosphate reactor and some RowaPhos media. Also, not really sure how much media to include in the reactor. I know it will probably be different intially until I get my phosphates under control ... but should the reactor bill "filled" with the media?

Thanks

slow as possible, you dont want the top layer of media to raise up off the bulk of the media, so the slower the better, I think I remember reading some place its like 80gph people were useing.....I'll see if I can find that article.

from doc fosters and smith:

"maximum recommended flow rate: 80 gph for 150 grams of PhosBan, 90 gph for 200 grams"

Thats for the two lil fishies reactor thats good up to a 150g tank. Dont know if thats around the same for yours or not, or if thats a standard, but I knew it was a low rate. Hope this helps.

from what I can remember they say to jsut barely have the surface broken with tension, you need the water to react slowly with the media for the best results. Good luck :)
