Good morning all! We purchased 2 Jebao CP-90 SINE crossflow wavemakers. I've been watching some YouTube videos on them and flow in general but I still have some questions.
For a 72" x 18" x 23" tank, what would be the optimum placement from the top?
Also, I'm a bit confused about what all the settings mean, even on the little powerheads I have in my QT tanks. I just have those about 1/3 of the way down on the lowest setting because the frag tank is only 13 g and even at the lowest setting they are getting good movement.
So I guess my questions are:
What is the best placement?
and
What do all.the different t settings mean?
and what is Night Mode and do you use it in your tank?

I've never used the Jebao gyers. I do have an icecap gyre though. Maybe a picture of the booklet and we can explain better what they are.

From my experience with Jebao products I'll say your modes are:
Pulse mode - on/off busts (length of burst and intensity depending on settings)
Wave move - cycles from low speed up to high speed to create a wave effect
Random mode - randomly switches intensity and length of burst to create random flow pattern
Constant mode - just on at a constant intensity

Night mode reduces the power head to low speed when the light sensor doesn't detect light. Good for giving corals/fish a break during the night. I use it on my tanks.

Placement looks good. You want them down enough from the surface so they don't suck in air. You want the flow to go across the top of the tank (with your current configuration). You have options though (see below).

Your placement is how I had mine in my 150. I do not recommend pulse, doesn't seem to work that well with gyres for some reason and I really don't even like it personally. At first I thought it was cool because it would make my LPS pulse back and forth but it doesn't do much to prevent dead spots. I prefer random in all my pump settings now, especially with SPS.

Same. Random flow always. I believe on Jebao that is called "Else" mode.
