I ran across this DIY fluidised reactor for Purigen. Really smart in its simple design. Purigen goes on the inflow side of a standard RO sediment prefilter container. Allows the Purigen to circulate, but not get into the tank. This concept will work on any BRS media reactor as well. I am using Purigen in the SeaChem "The Bag", stuffed into a TLF reactor in my 100 gallon reef, and it clogs and needs rinsing fairly often, with the Purigen still good. Also using it in a BRS media reactor in "The Bag", stuffed inside the media cartridge.
I'm gonna try this on my BRS Reactor. Any suggestions on how to convert a TLF 150 to this concept would be great. My main concern about the TLF reactor is the Purigen beads are so small and light , it would not take much flow to push them out and through the sponges TLF gives with the reactor and into the tank.
