Before I start this post I want to give major props to Brandon.

I am as green to this hobby as one can be. Tonight I had a major panic attack and Brandon took time from his life to talk a complete stranger off of the ledge and share his experience. Now thats not saying that everything is going to be alright in my tank but I feel better now knowing that I've given these very cool creatures a fighting chance.

His help and advice may have seemed like a little thing to him but it was huge to me so props.

Ok here we go:

I bought a 125 gallon from the forum here. I am new to this but I can add and I usally know a good deal when I see one so why did all of you buy hungry peeps let this slide:

125 gallon, hob fuge/filter, CL super skimmer, 5 gal bucket LS, 100 pounds LR, stand, 72 inch CL light with 4 white/4 blue/6 lunar, picasso and clown trigger, Lunar wrasse, DF puffer, 2 yellow damsels, yellow tang and SM damsel, a killer zoo colony and 3 other corals misc huge snails $750 bucks....Good deal or no?

The move was a PITA! but I learned 2 cool things that I would like to share.

1. HD sells a 9 dollar battery powered siphon that is worth its weight in gold!

2. The chemical reaction between salt water and the batteries in a battery powered siphon when you drop it in is something to behold.

Going to let the tank settle for a few weeks before I try to arrange the rock better and let the fish settle down from the move...then im gonna build a sump.....then I'm gonna plumb everything under the stairs and into a closet....then I'm gonna buy more stuff.

I may have to add on to the house. I gonna be brooooooooooke but quick!

We ordered a refractometer and I was expecting it today....if it doesnt come soon I may need to borrow one anddddddd be taught how to use one from someone close to me.

Loren, Thanks for the props... My phone is always open for emergency calls, and I take each one seriously and it is an honor to be able to help!! I am sorry that I could not be more help but there is only so much I can see through the phone. I think you will be ok... We need to get you some good testing stuff to give you real numbers (a PH pen is your next e-bay buy!) I hope your refracometer comes in tomorrow. If not, let me know and we can work something out to get you one!

Again, feel free to PM me if you need me and let me know how things work out in the morning.

Hmmmmm.... GA Techies don't have to study?

Also see that you're an auto technician.... careful about volunteering too much time to Loren, or you'll be hearing a lot about a '65 Nova....

Brandon is good about helping a fellow out especially when you are new. It is interesting how little snobbery there is in the club toward new members. In most other clubs (such as car clubs), knowledge is horded and newbs are looked down upon. Kudos to Brandon for helping a new member into the fold.

If you need borrow a refratometer let me know. I am close to you in Mableton and I have plenty of testing supplies that sit idle!
