found something weird in tank??

I just got home from work and all the lights are of course off. I decided to take a flashlight and see what some of my new fish are doing. I saw these string like things "maybe some sort of tentacles" that were coming out of a piece of LR. Each string like tentacle is about 6" to 7" long there like a whiteish clear - i did not see a body just coming out of the rock???? There are 6ea tentacles. Also very tiny diameter about the diameter of a piece of hair. Do you have any idea what this could be ?

yes glx that very well could be it. thank you - i am glad to know it is reef safe Actually I hope that is it. Looks similar but i did not see a body - just tentacles like the one in the pic except longer.

I have a bunch of those guys in my tanks they are very fun to watch.....the bodies are often completely hidden under the rock work....thats probably why you cant see them much.....if you were o turn the rock that you see them coming out of over you would see the body......great worms though...they pick up alot o stuff.

I have something similar, but they appear to live in the sand bed. If a piece of food makes it to the sand bed, it's fun to watch the tug of war between them as they all try and get the same piece.

yes they live in the sand bed and on rocks. that lil read from marcs site explains them a bit.
