Here's an idea:
I'm always looking for a decent way to take frag pics in the tank.

Basically I was thinking of a frag rack with a black backdrop

Here's the first one

After snapping a few pics I discovered the back needed to be completely black.

It was also a little to small, so I made another and painted the back black w krylon.

Here it is with a few corals and in the tank

My problem is that my camera won't zoom in close enough to take a good pic. I'm sure it would look great if it would. I suppose I need a good macro lense.

Anyway, maybe this will give someone a good idea.

That's a neat idea for isolating the frag for pictures. A+ for creativity!

I'd play with a white background over a black though, and work on the white balance.

I've been working on an led based "spot light" to give good lighting. Still not sure whether I want to go the cheap route and used gels for color or use leds with adjustable colors. Idea is to use the spot light with a blue color and a camera lens with a yellow filter to give a natural color while keeping the "pop" from the blue light. Your frag holder would go great with that set up. I see a "Frag Studio" kit in our future.

In my limited experience LEDS are HORRIBLY difficult to photograph in a true to life color.

See my pics of shooting under blues using filters on the lens. These were first attempts without the added light from the "spot light". I'll be trying that this weekend hopefully.
