How long does it take for a small frag to grow?

That is such a huge question. It depends on what it is that has been fragged, water, light, and flow conditions, etc etc. and, what do you mean by grow?..

Can you be more specific?

Well, I have never had Coral of any sort before.

I guess the basics? Are there certain coral frags that grow quicker? Like Leathers,Gorgonia,Ricordea,Mushroom, etc?

There area lot of variables to that question. Each tank will provide different outcomes. For the most part it depends on the coral type and the living conditions in the tank. I've had stylo and birdsnest frags grow to baseball size in like 9 months. Gsp go from 3 inch piece to covering an entire rock etc. I would say that in a "happy" environment you should see nice growth overall at the 1 year marker.
