Frag tank add on to my Jbj 28 nano

So I'm thinking of adding a frag tank with sump to my collection and was wondering if it would be a bad idea to connect it all so it is one system (nanocube feeds into sump for frag tank or straight to the frag tank then back to the nano cube. is it possible? is it a good idea? Im open for any and all suggestions & help

its possible, sure. you have to drill the nanocube though.

Why would I have to drill it. I mean is this a good idea or no?

It is possible and done by several. However having the nano fain into the frag tank means all junk coming from the nano will settle in the frag tank. I would plumb two returns and two drains but just use one sump, skimmer and ATO. Drawback would be that if something goes wrong in one it affects both.

I did it with mines and it turned out great. Two drain lines into the same sump and one return pump split into two return lines. Check out my thread, hopefully it would give you some ideas.
