I realized I wasn't going to be able to get near what I paid for my 37 gallon tank, so I've decided to turn it into my frag tank  I'll be getting accessories and things that I need along the way. Currently I have a 37 gallon (30x12x22) non-drilled tank, stand, canister filter (plan on just filling it with live rock/rubble from my other tank and possibly some purijen). Still need a light and heater.

I finished making the frag racks today. I still need to paint the back glass (black), purchase/decide on a light (i'm leaning towards a 27" maxspect seeing as how that's what I have on my display, but considering the kessil a360w-e as well) I'll be posting pictures as things get completed.

--Side note: the 37 is currently housing my roommates fish until his tank is done cycling.

I hope not..i've been running it on the frag racks in my other tank. Everything I've read said that it's safe

Needs to be done in a week unless you sent your live sale to me! Haha following along and I think JDavid had a nice 30 rimless for sale but put to use what you got😃

Haha I'm working on getting it all together! JDavid definitely did..just gotta use what I have for now. And I think it'll be a sweet little DIY frag tank--we'll see

Lights just go with triatomic I have them on mine and they grow coral better then my gen 2 pros do ask others save your money spend it else where

All my coral from a recent live sale will be here next friday!! Time to get a move on..

Ended up ordering the 27" razor from Aquarium Specilaty--with 10% discount it made my decision easier. I would have had at least 300-350 in any other fixture PLUS figuring out how to hang it. The light should be here tomorrow. Planning on running a shallow sandbed--it's currently being seeded with some LR in a rubbermaid "tank". Will hopefully have everything together by the beginning of next week!

Planning on having a pair of clowns or something as far as livestock goes...thought it would help with bioload since my canister only has so much room. And the LFS (bobs) has it in all of their tanks..so I figured it served some purpose.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong..would love some input

It's the cobalt ext for 55 gallons. Has 4 compartments. 2 are stuffed with rubble, one filter floss, and the other will have a sponge that I've been running in my 65 sump for the past 3 weeks

Alright. I'm out of town until next Tuesday. I'll hit you up then. Thanks man

Any reasons not to run a shallow sand bed though? Other than being hard to clean..

Yeah it does seem easier..probably gonna try it. If it blows around I guess I'll deal with it then.

I need some ideas...got everything put in the tank today and the frag racks all float!!! Any ideas how to get these to stay down other than weights.
