Hi everyone,
Check this out. This is my kind of set-up on my kind of budget...:lol2:

Looks good, what's total water volume and filtration? Also you said budget how much did it end up costing you?

cool setup but hes gonna have trouble down the road with his auto top off setup. for one who knows whats in that canister its probably just a sediment filter so hes getting straight tap water in the tank and 2 it dosent look like he has a controller or a solonoid so if the float valve fails hes gonna have a flood of biblical proportions on his hands specially if it happens while hes away

Agreed, anytime u hook up to your water supply like that you want as much protection as u can have. All he would have to do is hook up a solenoid on a timer going to his system and he would be well protected. It is a nice simple setup though.

Okay guys...this is not my setup..this is some guy on youtube I found. I like the setup just for frags not fish. I agree on the problems that everyone pointed out with the water systemm and valve. I do not know what kind of lights? I left him a message on yt with some question..just waiting for an answer. If I done this I would have to do some tweaking to get it right like it should be.

Ah okay, good. So now I can be critical.

Really this looks more like a cheap tank setup. Not a cheap frag system. The lighting does not look like it will support anything other than MAYBE some softies or macro algae. Certainly not a clam or SPS.

I'd be interested to see what happens when the power goes out. Gravity is going to pull a LOT of water off that top & second tank. Hope that sump is big enough. And the ATO setup, (1) the filtration is not adequate IMHO, and (2) having it setup without a failsafe is a disaster waiting to happen.

Overall, I think it's interesting how it's setup, but it has numerous, serious flaws.

I know Jef4y. I would have to tweak it a lot and get some good lighting to grow SPS. I would have one of each for the SPS/LPS/Softies. I would not do this for fish.

Okay everyone...just got an answer back from him about lighting. he stated he was using LED but did not give any other info.
