Frogspawn trouble

I upgraded my lighting in my tank from PC's to MH. I had 260 watts in PC's (and they were 6 months old) I went up to 300 in MH (2x150). However, my 2 Frogs have not been in full bloom since I made the upgrade. I placed them in the bottom and on top and I seem to still get the same result.

Had my water checked by my LFS and the salinty was a 1.21 and PH was 8.2. I raised the salt to 1.25 (over a couple of days) and the PH is now 8.5. I have had the new light for 3 wks now. What else can I do, or is it a waiting game at this point?

don't rush it... the spawns should open back up once they get acclimated.

Also, do a general light acclimation where you only run them for a few hours the first day... and then over a period of weeks build up to a full photo period.

If possible avoid moving them around. I would place them on the bottom half and leave them there.... let the adjust.

as long as the water is fine I don't think you're going to fry them with 150w MH, assuming your tank isn't super shallow or anything.

Comparing watts for watts is a tricky matter. MH produce far greater INTENSITY in localized spots. SO, while wattage may be comparable, the ntensity will be night and day. Cut your photoperiod to just 3 housr a day, and every few days, increase it a bit. In upgrading your lights, youve dont the equivalent of taking a taking a person that has been closed inside and throwing out into the brightest summer day. The coral needs to acclimate.

Or like when your mom would come in your room, flip the light on and say. It's time to get up!

Definitely the lights. They will learn to love them.
