I'm trying to do a little math to see which salt mixes best fit my budget. It seems the standard for 'budget' is Reef Crystals. The box advertises 200 Gallons, but I've never been able to achieve that without utilizing a sub-seawater density.

On average, how many gallons do you get out of a box of reef crystals?

I get around 180 also. Both Reef Crystals and Instant Ocean are referenced to a SG of 1.021. For our reefs we usually shoot for 1.026. That's why you get less than what's stated on the box.

Yes, I understand that. I think my box is on pace for about 160 gallons, which is why I asked. Maybe my refractometer needs calibrated!
