Hey,

So I plan on adding 100lbs of more sand to my tank. Already around 4 inches. I'm assuming my tank might be around 6 7 inches afterwards. Would you say that meets the minimum requirements to keep a garden eel captive. If not how much more? If someone has one for sale or knows of someone let me know.

Thanks

Sand depth is far from the only criterion for keeping garden eels. They are considered expert only fish that require specialized care and carefully chosen tankmates.

They can get over a foot long as I'm sure you know, and I think they tend to make their holes straight down. Granted you don't have predators in your tank, but I'd think this will stress the animal as they get older. This is based entirely on articles I've read and has zero experience to back it up.
