I have a GBTA and it seems to be doing very good but the only think is that the tentacles don't fully bubble. Every day there are a few that are bubbled but never the whole thing like when i bought it. I was just wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks to help keep then bubbled up. I read all over the internet that no one knows what makes them bubble up. I was just wondering if anyone has found anything that works for them.

Every nem is different but i have noticed that they "bubble" more when they are in a lower flow area

Well that maybe idk mine is definetly not in a low flow area but he does like where he is. He picked it out he tried every where in the tank and it is where he has settled.

I was talking with someone the other day about it. An observation we made is we have never seen a large BTA bubbled and almost all small ones are. What this means, I don't know but it was something we had both noticed

I have a picture that proves that the above is not always correct - very large RBTA, 12" in diameter, completely bubbled up.

well mine is about 5 to 6 inches and it really never completely bubbles anymore. i just noticed the other day when i was in your shop your rbta's were all nicely bubbled and then i got home and looked at my gbta and started to thinking about why it wasn't and was just wondering if anyone had any tips.

Yeah, it was just an observation. I have made. My GBTA is around 12-14" and hasn't bubbled since it was small. Its never split either. I wish it would because its size is frankly becoming annoying. I've seen pics of large ones bubbled but I'm trying to remember one in person and can't think of one.

I have heard that very strong lighting makes them bubble more, like at least 6watts/gallon or more

My Rose has grown from about 4" to about 14" in the year + that I've had it. I don't think it has ever had bubbled tentacles. I wish it would split too, for the same reasons John mentioned.
