GBTA - Is this normal?

My GTBA is attached to the tank wall behind some rock. Every other day or so he pulls himself back behind the rock and totally deflate. A couple hours later he comes back out fully inflated.

What is he doing back there... is this normal behavior?

Well, I guess I would hide behind a rock too if that was the only place available
