Going to pick up a 120g with canopy and stand this evening... and really have no idea how I'm going to get it up my flight of stairs. (just me, roommates are gone)
Anybody have any tips/ideas on lifting this tank alone?
If not, anybody in the roswell area willing to help out a fellow reefer? There's a case of beer in it for anybody willing to help!!!

You will need this...

Man, the best advice I can give is to wait until you have some help. I had to move my 120 from the back of the truck to my den that is on the first floor, and I caught absolute he|| doing so. It took almost an hour, and I was sweating like a dog in a fire hydrant factory. Just getting the aquarium out of the truck, then onto the stand was an extreme challenge. Not only was it heavy, but, very large and cumbersome.

Not trying to discourage you. I'd just hate to see you hurt yourself or break something trying to get this thing up the stairs...

Best of luck. Let us know how it turns out...

yea id wait cause obviously it wont take much to drop it and with all 4 corners not being supported, could cause stress problems on the tank. Id wait for more peeps.

+1. My tank was under stress even without a drop. The negative leverage from teter-totting it off of the tailgate and onto the stand was stress enough...

If I might offer a suggestion... break out the beer after the tank gets moved.
I'm just sayin'

Or break out the beer before hand and then decide, "You know, it really looks good sitting in the back of the truck".

big thanks to DewKey for helping with the move. He brought a set of vacuum suction movers and it took no time at all.

Now comes the fun part...
