I swear I did my research on this one, but no where I saw told me they were picky eaters (that I remember at least). Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can get for them? He sifts sand all day, but wont touch the actual food.
Thanks

I had the same problem with mine. I tried everything and mine wouldn't take anything... I had him for about 6 months as I had a good pod population but eventually that ran out... I tried to catch the lil guy but it was impossible...

I know they need an established tank that doesn't have much competition for algaes. Mine would tear up the dying stuff in my planted tank, nibble on small pellets, but really went crazy over cyclopeeze. In the end carpet surfing is a mutha. Thought I was cool when I was reaching the year mark with him

...boo. I'm trying gringing up some freeze dried cyclopeeze now, I do have a good pod population, but it looks like I may have to supplement it. Its a really cool fish, I just wish I'd have seen that it was so hard to keep.

has it listed as easy, and everywhere I looked when googling said the same, so I thought I was set. ah well, I'll just hope for the best.

Thanks guys for the info.

My experience was similar to Jin's. I thought I had mine eating live brine, frozen mysis and cyclopeeze and it was doing ok. Unfortunatley, it stopped eating and cleaned out my tank or it was not getting the supplements that it needed to stay healthy. So I think these guys can be challenging. I would love to hear other's experiences as well, especially folks that have been successful keeping this cool little fish.
