I just got some dead rock from my LFS, but it has some lichen and moss on it. I let it sit in a bleach solution over night, but even now after scrubing it it's still stuck on the rock. I am letting the rocks bake in the sun for now, but should I just soak it in bleach solution (1 part bleach ten parts water) again if I still can't get it off after the sun bake?

If it is really stubborn use straight bleach on it. Another option is to get a drill and attach a wire brush wheel to it. That should physically remove the stuff. Alternately, yo could just use a coarse wire brush from the paint dept at Lowes/HD and take it of manually.

I'll try the wire brush, didn't think of that. Thanks

Edit: Wait, won't that scrap some of the rock off too?

Yup, that's the point of using the wire brush. It will only scrape the surface. Once in your tank it will quickly get covered in coralline algae.
