Getting off the carbon.

I do not have anywhere to put a sump, so I've been stuck using/replaceing carbon filtration but I am looking to slowly convert this into a bio collection large enough that I would not need the carbon. I already have a second emperor 400 running with just a liter of sechem matrix media it's only been up for a week so it cannot run on its own.
I like the product in that link becuase of the filter layer that can trap debris....but I'm rambling now...does anyone have a suggestion of what I could to do get off the carbon!

I run carbon in my phophate reactor, has the sponges and all that wholesome goodness

good to know. So nm then, I'll just stick with the carbon monthly replacement cycle. Thanks guys.
