Gfci

Went to do a water change today and noticed the vortech pump was on but lights and prop were not working. It was working off the battery backup but not enough juice to make prop spin. Looked down and noticed the GFCI receptacle was not on the normal green. I unplugged pump and tried to reset receptacle. It would not reset with the green light coming on. I cleaned the vortech pump wet side and then plugged it back in. It worked fine.

Question ...what happened and how do I fix?. Appears no power to receptacle. No breakers are blown.
Replace?

Yes the GFI needs replacing. They will sometimes go bad.
