I have this giant toadstool that is about 12" across the top and was wondering if anyone know a good method for splitting it. The trunk is about 2-3" thick. It is firmly attached to a large rock that is in the middle of the rock pile. It's a really beautiful creature and I definitely don't want to harm it, but it is taking over the center of the tank..

I saw on RC that you cut off the top of the head-stem up. And then slice it up like a pie or in squares. Then attach each piece with a rubber band to a piece of rock. Good luck.

Yep. I've done it plenty of times in the past.

If you don't want to hack the whole thing, you can simply cut off a section of the cap. You can use a razor or some ss scissors.

+1 - I've done this as well. You can pretty much slice it up and it will reattach and grow,
