I am finally finished with my degree (12 year plan.....Oh Yeah) and am wanting to step my tank up a little bit. I was planning on hooking my Calcium Reactor up (korallin 3002) soon but am having second thoughts now. Up till now I have just done water changes for nutrient export and renewal of trace elements. I DO NOT want to test and have to supplement with anything other than a calcium reactor. I am home most of the time but do travel from home sometimes up to a week at a time. I don't want to have to ask my wife to do anything other than feed while I'm gone.
I am actually thinking about just increasing my water changes (both frequency and amount) instead of hooking up the calcium reactor. I have predominately SPS now but will be adding LPS and zoas soon for an eventual breakup of 40% SPS, 40% LPS, and 20% zoas.
I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on this idea. I have heard that adding a calcium reactor can lower certain things. I'm trying to dumb this up a little bit and make it as crash proof as I can.
I appreciate any input for or against this thinking........
