So

Why can a black cleaner pad scratch a pane of glass,
But a razor can clean it wo scratching?
Angle?

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Angle. Surface area of razor blade contact. Also coralife, snail, calcium deposits and sand accumulate in the cleaning bed and scratches stuff.

And why does your post end with so long, thanks for the fish? I like inside jokes.

I started playing the video and my partner at the firehouse said hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy. I said no it's a fish video. He looked at me crosseyed then I saw the title pop up and felt like an idiot. I'm not gonna tell him he was right.

+1 Mainly because debris/sand/etc gets caught in the pads and scratch the glass. Some of the particles can be very small and hard to see. Rinsing the pads well before every use and replacing them properly will help prevent scratching. Also being careful around the sand line.
