I picked this up used and will be using it to upgrade from my IM 20 frag tank.

I have cleaned it and made sure it holds water. Today I mocked up the original plumbing so I can decide where to integrate the 25w UV.

I only mocked up the external plumbing and I think I’m going to put the UV on the right side of the back cabinet removing some of the original plumbing to add it in.

That UV kinda looks overkill for the tank size. I careful as UV kills both good and bad. And mainly good for tanks with tons of fishes.

How’s the sump?!? I would go with biggest you can fit! Just a thought.

It’s a 25w good for up to 130 gallons. The system will be about 100 gallons and the uv will run off its own return pump to regulate flow.

Let’s see the sump set up. Hehe
That’s next I did the easy to get to external stuff first. Before getting my hands on the tank I preemptively ordered a filter roller and it turns out that it doesn’t fit in the sump. So I bought a 5.5 gallon tank and will be plumbing that into the end of the sump that came with it. It will also be raised.

This is hard to visualize what you are saying but I am looking forward to it!

Unfortunately my plan will not work after number of fittings I have to use to put the pipes together. My fleece roller is from Europe and the pvc inlet is 40mm my drain pipes my primary and secondary drain pipe enter an 1 1/2” y. I cannot find a fitting that is 40mm to 1 1/2. I thought I found a union that was but it turns out it is 50mm to 1 1/2 so now I have a 40mm to 50mm then the union. With the added length of putting all of these fittings together I can no longer raise what I would call the pre-sump that will house my fleece roller. So now I have to build an acrylic box 15x12x14 set it level with the main sump and plumb them together with two 1 1/2” bulkheads. So if anyone is good with acrylic and wants to help please hit me up.
