gluing my candy cane

I know I can use the super glue gel but do I just put in on the candy cane and then put in in the water to glue it or do I take the rock out and glue it to the rock and then put back in the water. If take rock out how long do I wait before putting back in the water.

I know this is probably obvious but this is the first for me, something knocked it off of the piece it was on so it is laying down and need TLC.

if the rock is small enough i would remove it and lightly dry the spot that you are gluing the piece to. Apply glue on the base of the candy cane then attach to the rock. After you do so hold it for about 20-30secs then put back in the tank. Once your glue touches the water it begins to instantly harden. Your rock shouldnt be out of the water long if have everything ready before hand. Even if it was out of the water longer it will be ok.
