Hey guys/gals, got a question. I just bought a Diamond Gobe brought it home drip acclimated it, put in the tank. Woke up this morning found him laying in the corner of the tank still breathing, but slowly. Noticed that there is a huge gash in his left side near his fin. Any ideas on what could have caused this? I saw some shrimp going over to him last night but didn't think to much of it.

I have a 90 Gallon Tank stocked with the following mates:
- 1 Blue Yellow Tailed Damsel
- 1 Wrasse
- 2 False Clowns
- 3 Anthias
- 12 snails
- 36 blue & red hermit mix

I was hoping someone could help me out and figure out
1. How to get the fish to heal.

2. What might have caused it.

do you think he might have dug under some rocks and they collapsed on him? They say this is a major cause of death. My gobies collapsed a good bit of my rock stack before luckily they werent around when it finally went and were ok. Other than that maybe the damsel chased him around. I really dont know man but I hope he makes it

He didn't make it, but by the looks of it something ate a chuck out of his body. Only culprit I can think that would be aggressive would be the damsel. Now I just gotta catch the bugger without ripping my tank apart.

You mentioned shrimp. I did not see what kind of shrimp you have on your livestock list. I have a large coral banded that can do some damage if he gets a hold of anything. He is a night stalker.

Just some skunk shrimp. The wrasse is a Hoven's Wrasse (Melanurus Wrasse) since I don't think I listed it, but he has been a model citizen since I put him in there.
