Hey,
I just got a new promotion here at work and will be traveling for most of the week. What should I do to make sure my fish make it with out me?? Does anyone have any experience with an automatic feeder? If so which one and which food is best? I do have a neighbor that I can talk into feeding frozen food once or twice a week as well. Right now I just have a blue tang and maroon clownfish, shrimp, and anemones. Oh and a leather coral too. As long as my sump is full Monday when I leave I assume everything will be fine while I am gone?

I have an Eheim that i use when i need it. It's worked good for me but it seems to work better with flake food crushed up into small pieces. If your neighbor can feed frozen a couple time while your gone I'd show him how to top off the sump also. Just make sure you have plenty of RO/DI on hand for him. Better safe than sorry.

I love my Eheim. It has been in use continuously for at least the last six months on one set of batteries. Nice solid unit. I use mine to feed Formula One pellet(all but one of my fish will eat this). Works great.

Pending the size of your tank- have 5gal of ro water set out for your buddy to top off if necessary. Also a few small pellets never hurt in the auto feeder. Be sure you have a trap (ring) for the flake to fall into and collect so that it doesn't just float into the overflow
