Ok..again with the clown and the condi...

Here's what they look like now? Is this guy beating up the anemone? I can't win for losing.... The condi hasn't puffed back up and it's been about 2 hours. I tried to feed them to get the clown off of him for a bit, but he REFUSES to leave and is 'dusting' the sand out from under that entire area. I'm sorry the pics are a bit blurry, I couldn't get the cam to focus through the glass for some reason..

Damsels and clowns (same family) have a tendency to do their own aquascaping. It isn't unusualy for them to clear out the area around their home. It just adds some interest to the sand bed.

I don't hear anything that sounds weird. I agree to leave them alone.

Ahh.. this brings back memories... when I had my GSM and my tiny dollar sized anemone, I thought that thing was done for. It was like watching a giant trying to sleep in a lil kid's bed tossing and turning constantly. If you feed the anemone some silversides or something of substance, it should grow up pretty quickly (I say about a month).

Once they are both the right size for each other, things won't look so bad. Before I sold the pair, there were many times the fish would grab bigger chunks of food and bring it to the anemone for consumption while taking smaller bits of food out of the water column for himself. I think these two will be fine. :)

you are very lucky that your clown is even hosting with your anemone, the condi is a carribean variety, has a relatively strong sting, and are notorious for nuking tanks, more so than other anemones for some reason. This is probably due to more inexperienced hobbyists buying them due to their price and not caring for htem correctly though. Anyways, please let us know how it goes, there needs to be more data on this kind of hosting!

It may not be big enough for the clown to host in. I've read that if the anemone is not big enough for a clown to host then the clown will kill the anemone.

If you want to seperate them, I've read people using strawberry baskets.

Everything will work out ind due time. THe clown needs to get the small stings from the anomeone in order for it to be immune to the stings.
