got a little problem!!!

ok so my glass on my tank is covered in green hair algae.......some red hair algae but 90% of the algae is green.......i have scrubbed with a tooth brush but it just comes back.....my LR is fine and my sand bed is fine its just all over the glass and the filter tube.

what kind of creatures can i get that will take care of this problem????

or do i need to buy some type of chemical to take care of the problem??

no chemicals!!!!! Find the source of problem and fix it. Usually, less food, smaller photoperiod, bigger clean up crew, more flow.

Not hair algae, but a green type fern algae grows on my overflow. I leave it there as an indicator of whats going on in my tank. It has slowly deminished over the last few months, which means I'm slowly taking care of the issue.

Find the reason its growing, then fix it, It'll vanish on its on.

I actually bought some LR that I didn't realize was covered in hair algae until it went in my tank, but instead of spreading, it died. Guess I'm lucky!

When you scrub the algae off all if does is die in your tank and releases the NO3 and PO4 it absorbed. Pull it out towards the end of the day after it's spent all day absorbing nutrients. Use some GFO and do some water changes.

Get a seahare the eat everything then lower nitrates and it will prolly be fine! Good luck!

Get a couple of huge snails that like the glass! Astrea, top crown, ...........

sea hares randomly drop dead! and they stink! Mine was doing really well and all of a sudden went belly up; hear many others have the same experience.

Lemme get 3 ghosts. I got $50 for each.. I bought some turbos from FS&M that were about the size of golf balls..maybe bigger. Between them and my YT the HA is gone.. Ask Sal how bad it was..
