what do you keep your water in? im thinking about just buying one of the huge plastic garbage cans from wal-mart and using that? what do you guys suggest?

Yes. I use a Brute garbage can made by Rubbermaid. You might consider getting the dolley wheels for it so that you can move the garbage can full of water if you have to move it for some reason. I their almost the price of the can, but it's been extremely useful to me to have that mobility.

All of the Brute containers that are gray, white or yellow in color are food safe. Any container you get should have a stamp on the underside of the lid that says something on the lines of :

"NSF STD 2 Food Contact, Gray, White, Yellow"

The green Brute are food safe also.

You could also pick up a cheap tank somewhere. It is easy to make marks on to indicate how many gallons you are at.

That's exactly what I've done. I marked the inside from 5-30 gallons. Perfect for measuring out salt.

I use the blue 7 gallon water jugs. You can buy them at ****s Sporting Goods or even Walmart. 7 gallons is about a much as I want to lift and pour into my top off container.

if it says Brute on the side then your fine. They are strong enough to handle the weight of the water.

Are all Brute containers food safe? I was under the impression it was certain colors.

we're gonna install it at the store.. so we need to keep a lot on hand. We can finally get away from the tap water tanks. Though i have to give my boss props.. as far as salt water tanks with tap water go.. she knows her stuff. Im really surprised at the success of all of our livestock, as well as the customers. Though we went 50/50 on this RODI unit. How much do stores usually charge per gallon? Ive never asked.. just paid. lol.
