title pretty much sums it up. i love how clean the place is and the tanks are pretty much spotless. Fish all looked healthy, i really like the Eels they have as well. Prices were pretty much average. They had a decent selection of freshwater, live rock, and dry goods as well. I just realyl reallywish they took american express.

Many merchants are hesitant to accept AMEX because it is a high cost to them... even VISA/MC costs are high for merchants. Essentially they charge you the same price for a fish, but get less money when you pay w/ credit card, and AMEX/DISC are the most expensive to have.

By pointing out that you would spend more money at the store if they accepted this type of credit card, you may encourage them to do some informal research about how many sales they are losing by not taking this card and whether that cost justifies the expenses associated with accepting AMEX.

:)

This is why I don't understand why everyone doesn't accept discover. As a merchant, it's the cheapest card to accept.

DISC is about where VISA/MC are in rates... (i just checked with one of our sales reps), so you are correct, thanks for pointing that out.

thanks matt thats exactly what i hoped to do!

It is not the fees that caused certain retail stores to not accept AMEX. Retailers would rather have the customer buy their product and make some money instead of crying about the 2.3% charge instead of the Visa/Master 1.45% charge. It is their dispute process that got most retailers angry. My store will not take AMEX because once the customer dispute the chage, no matter if we have the signature or imprint copy of the card, the customer always wins the dispute. We've lost thousands of dallors because of AMEX. No more.

So i would have a Amex card to use, but i would never accept it from a customer, especially when they live in the projects like East Point and College Park. Their intentions arn't always good. Retailers loose money on Amex card all the time, this is also why Fry's won't take it neither.

Thank you Nishant3789 for your comments about our store. I am glad you enjoyed your visit. As far as the Amex situation goes, we will certainly research the situation further and see what we can do for our customers.

Optimum Aquarium

The Opt. Aquarium folks are great. Great store, great selection, and great folks.

Where are they located, still looking to find a store that has a display tank that looks better than blue planets, (no pun intended) not to hurt no ones feelings but i would really like to see an amazing display tank at a store not to take nothing from any other stores.
