I'm posting this in Reef Discussion, as opposed to the Members section, so that all can see it, not just the card-carriers ;) .

Last night's meeting was EXCELLENT! Joe Yaiullo gave a most awesome presentation, and it was nice sit and watch in awe, to listen and learn, as well as to engage in fellowship once again.

Job well done to *all* who work to put these meetings together. The BoD, and the volunteers who take on every task to make it work like a finely tuned machine. Everything was well organized, well presented and flowed smoothly. A lot goes on behind the scenes to make this happen.

Congratulations to the incoming BoD and new volunteers also, without people stepping up to keep things moving forward, nothing like this could happen.

As many of you know, it had been a long time since I'd been to a meeting. It was well worth jumping through a few hoops and braving bad weather in order to attend.

I'll be doing my best to attend more meetings. It feels good to "be home".

Wow? You were there? Wished I'd have known! I'd have introduced myself. I had to leave early to observe my son's bed time, as he was in tow...

We spoke very briefly - although we didn't introduce ourselves - I saw your name tag. I was sitting beside Perry at one point, and Steve Shindell sat beside me during the lecture.

I'm the middle-aged, fat broad with long brown (and gray) hair and glasses. I was wearing a bright red sweatshirt.

:D

Were you sitting in front of Simon at one point? I wasn't wearing a name tag. Who was impersonating me?

I really wanted to be there (was gonna join too) but I came down with a nasty cold and figured I would save everyone that misery.

Well then maybe somebody said your name... but I did see you - you have a goatee, yes? And you had a young boy with you.

Yes, I was seated in front of Simon - that's where I parked for the duration once I got there and made my way to a seat, until shortly after the lecture - I was going to mingle a bit afterwards, but Colin and his driver needed assistance with keys locked in a car, and they needed somebody with a AAA membership (that would be me)... as it happens, Simon was able to get the window open enough for Colin to get his arm in.

By the time all that was done, and AAA was summoned and then canceled, most folks had already left - I reckon you were long gone by then ;)

Well, I don't know about "finely tuned"! Me getting up and starting the show wasn't exactly planned... I was just getting things moving until our fearless leaders showed up. Been a while since I've held the mic, and I didn't like it last night anymore than I did in the past!:bubba:

In any case, yes, it was a good meeting and a good presentation by Joe!

Jenn tank you so much for offering your AAA. That was so nice of you I really appreciate it. Also thanks the Perry and Simon for helping us break in and get the keys.

I wish that I could have stayed for the presentation... but at 7:45 I got to the point where I couldn't wait anymore for it to start...

what was the holdup? (there may have been an announcement, but I couldn't hear everyone who used the microphone...)

+1 to a real good meeting last night. I wish the attendance as up a bit more but with the weather, hey it was what it was. Great presentation and I enjoyed meeting some new folks last night. Congrats to Ricksconnected with his RO/DI trophy.

Apologies for the late start. Joe was gracious enough to waive the club paying his lodging, in leiu of taking him to dinner. That ran a little longer than we expected. Besides, I enjoy publicly embarassing Mojo.
