Heres what im sure is a easy question for you experianced folks.
Put green star polyps in tank 4 monthes ago and want to restrict its growth as it is intruding on other creatures areas. How do I "trim" this stuff?

usually you can cut where you want the line to stop and carefully pull it up; if it doesnt pull off the rock you can try to lift and pull with a knife.

I just had the same problem
mines took over 70% of my tank, it will take over if you let
it is like a weed.
what I end up doing was taking out all the infected rocks and trading them for clean live rocks.

I guess the best thing to do if you want to keep this stuff in your tank is to put it up real high in the tank and if it start speading (which it will) you can just take out that piece of rock it's on

Good luck

I keep mine on the sand bed separate from every other rock in the tank. This stuff can grow on sand, but you can just peel and frag.

I do the same as KappaKnight. Keep it isolated and when it grows a mat across the substrate just break it off and trade / sell it.

Trade the rock in at the fish store for credit and never put it in the tank again!!! :)

I had too...I hate the stuff
