Grey or White PVC?

I want to plumb up a Sedra 9000 to my Euro-reef ES8-2 skimmer to replace a leaking 5000 and was wondering if you had to use schedule 80 (grey) pvc connections or would schedule 40 (white) work just as well?

If white is ok, why do they use grey? for outdoor use?

Yes, grey is sch 80. I wanted to know if anyone had issues using sch 40 (white) with high pressure skimmer pumps.

I've used the grey elecrtrical pvc. It is the same as the white. And you can get curved sections that will have less backpreasure than a sharp elbow. And one end is flared so it's also one less connector needed.

FWIW, You can get grey Schedule 40 pipe. I have seen it at Lowes before up to 2".
