Guess what I just blew all my money on?

I tried to put a meter stick (only thing I could find) with inches on it to show a size comparison but that didn't really work. My female Wantanabe anglefish is a little less then 2". I would of liked to get one a little bigger but she looked really healthy and was eating so I got her. Within an hour of putting her in quarentine she was eating everything cyclopleeze, mysis shrimp, even pellets and flakes. I'm soaking all her food in garlic guard. I love her she is so cute, well without further delay, here are some pics.

I have one question though. Without a male will the female turn into a male? I plan to get a male eventually I just don't know how soon I can get one.

Not likely. In fact, with many Genicanthus angels, the males can revert to female coloration, even with females present.

Ok, thanks for the info. When I do get a male whats the best way to keep it from converting to a female?

FEMALES!!! Lots of em. I currently keep 3 females per male to prevent just this with my bellus and caudovitattus.

Would 2 females with 1 male work? I'd like to add some tangs but I don't want to overstock the tank.

You probably wouldnt even need more than 1, but with more than one, youd have a better chance. The gross morphology of these fish is quite misunderstood and understudied. For example, they can change their sex from female to male, but then apparently back to female. But, do they change sex, or just gross appearance? No one knows. I would just try to get a larger male and smaller females, and all should be good. JMO.

Okay thanks for the info I really hope she does well, she's really small but she's healthy and eats well. I'm also soaking food in an medicine (can't remember the name) that will get rid of internal paracites, just incase.

I have a large swallowtail male that reverted back to a female but looks like he may change back to a male. He evidently has identify issues.

Well, I don't want to admit the reality of the situation so no....i did not spend all my money on her....She is not in quarentine any more, niether are the siccortail gobies. They are all doing good. The angle it's like a pig.
