Hair algae on only one overflow?

Hey ARC

I'm kind of baffed about whats going on in my tank. One overflow has some pretty raunchy looking hair algae. The other overflow and rest of the tank is 100% crystal clear.

The overflow that has the hair algae is about a foot away from a window that faces outside. There isn't any direct sunlight, but radiant light does make its way in.

So, should I shrug this off as just additional light coming in from outside? I'll post some water params tonight when I get a chance to test.

The tank is about 2 months old. I just did a 10% water change this morning. The only thing i'm dosing with is Purple Up and Aquavitro Fuel.

Here's some pics:

Sweet! Why didn't I think of that?

Thanks for the suggestion. I just put some black cardboard paper over the overflows. I'll take a look again at it in a day or two. I bet my skimmer pulls all sorts of junk.

I just fired up my 9w UV too, so hopefully that kills any spores that come off.

Thanks again!

:yay:
