Hair Algae still a problem

I have Chemi-pure and Purigen in the filter box of my nano cube 28. Also I have the photo deriod at 6 hours. I still have algae growing like crazy on the rock and some in the sand as well. It has been 2 weeks since I did this. Is this common?

What kind of water are you using? Have you had the water tested? Test for phosphates. That's a general culprit.

RODI I make myself. 0 tds ith Read Sea coral growth salt. I need to have the phosphates checked I presume. Is there an additive to get rid of them without using a reactor?

Not sure. The most effective way is through a reactor with Phosban, GFO or something similar. In order to be effective, 100% of the water needs to come in contact with the media. You will also need to determine where they are coming from.

Thanh did something to my 25 gallon when I started the tank, it completely irradiated all algae. He should know how to fix the problem.

You can bump your mag up to 1800, It will make the corals mad but will kill all the algea. Then you just let the tank bring it back down to normal.
