Halide people???

Which 150w lamp and ballast combo gives the best color and growth. I am new to Metal Halide.
It will be on a 30g cube.
Is single ended or double ended better?

Can you go 175w? The iwasaki aqua2 15k bulb with an electronic ballast would be my choice on a smaller tank.

I've used a 150 watt Pheonix 14K over my 30 cube. It is supplemented by 2 54 watt t5's. My coral growth is very good.

Phoenix 14k is probably my favorite DE lamp. Relatively low price, great color, solid growth.

I used a 150 sunpod with a phoenix 14 and it was a solid match to my radiums on the display tank

+1. I have been using them for a while now and I love them. I use the 250 DE but I have als used the 150.

Fwiw I had a 250w radium over that tank but I wanted stuff to grow off sand as well

I used the Phoenix 14K and the XM 20K loved them both.

Just re set up my 30 cube. I have a 250 aquamedic pendant with Phoenix 14k. Growth and color were amazing last time it was running and no problem keeping clams.
