Anyone have any good info on the hammer corals? I've been told calcium isn't needed, but then I've read otherwise... is the DT enough to feed them? Just want to make sure its healthy and happy.

with proper water changes, you may not need to dose calcium depending on what else you're keeping. They mostly feed from photosynthesis, but supplement food is beneficial in addition to adequate lighting.

i have had a hammer in my tank FOREVER and have never once dosed calcium. I have superman monti and some digitata amongst some other LPS and softies. You should be fine with it

no need to dose calcium. Just keep up the water changes and wll will be well... that is all I do and all my Euphillia do great!!

What about the zoa.... haha lots of questions about coral its all new to me... in my 55 gallon tank, from the meeting I put 2 of the zoas in that tank, one of them is open and looks amazing, the other hasn't opened at all and looks like it has a slim coat on it and its a little pale.... my friend Kelsey, who shares the tank with me, she says it could be stress and we should leave it in there for a couple more days to see if it gets better. Input???

Your friend is correct.

Wierd thing is they could stay like that for the longest and then one day poof.

Now with all the love we show you and with all the great deals you get with ARC sponsors doesn't it make good sense to join?

Come aboard we don't bite!

haha it does, but I don't have 30 bucks right now... but I get paid tomorrow so I'll join as soon as I have money!!

Yeah I was trying to post pictures of the tank earlier today but it wouldn't let me because I'm not a true member yet. I was excited to put pictures of my Regal tang up, cuz she had ick like after 2 days of buying her and now its clearing up so she's beautiful.... and Kelsey's little tuxedo urchin who's been hanging out with the cabbage coral since its been in there, he's such a cutie!

suprisingly he only has two things. a shell and a sponge lookin thing that probably came off the rock. I wish the turbo would let dirty at least see the seaweed salad... hahaha that makes me laugh that swear words are editted out when I clearly didn't no that. ..God I don't want to work today

wow... well then buying that stuff was a waste of money. The tuxedo urchin in my 55, has found the zoa's and now he has a big hat... haha. He's slowly starting to drop them off, at least he left the cabbage alone.
