For whatever reason my hammer is looking terrible. When i first got it, it had all kinds of green in it and now it looks like its slowly dieing. I don't understand because everything else in my tank, including all my SPS, anemone, etc... are doing great.

Some parameters:
Salinity: 1.025
Temp: 78-81
Alk: 9
Calcium: 400
Magnesium: 1400
Nitrates: 0
Nitrites: 0
Phosphates: .06

I doing 2 gallon daily water changes. Have been dosing with Kent Tech CB parts A and B but that is only in the last couple of days. This thing has looked like this for weeks now.

Any ideas?

Had it been cut from a larger piece? Specifically from the end that is receding.

I would dip it, once wall euphillias start going its hard to recover

I have a frogspawn that looked very similar. Was barely expanded for months -- anywhere I put him in the tank -- while everything else in the tank looked great. A few days ago, I accidentally overfed and he got some food. Instantly he was all expanded again.

I have no idea if that will help, but I figured I would mention it.

I'll try target feeding it and see if that helps. It came from a sponser on ARC who has great stuff and when i got it - the thing looked great and was expanded beautifully but here recently it has started to decay. i don't believe there is any goo like substance on it.

As far as light, I have moved it all over my tank, up and down, sideways. Pretty much tried everywhere with no improvement. If I were to dip it, what would I dip it in?

I have had ups and downs with my Gold Aussie hammer. I do spot feed it and I have found it likes a little higher alk 10 and the Salinity to be 1.025-1.026
If that gets off or under feed it looked punny.
Mine seems to be doing a lot better now after feeding more and adj parameters

Every single bit of that sounds like my situation.

I have had little to zero luck with wall hammers laely. I am going to stick to branching types from now on.

OP: If you have brown jelly disease, I suggest you dip it in a Lugol's solution bath (iodine). You can get Lugols at most any Sponsor store. It will sometimes work on Euphyllias, about 50/50 IME.

If you are moving it every couple days, that could be the reason it is not coming out.
