hammer , torches etc, Prices?

I haven't purchased in corals in about 7 years so someone update me please . I'm sure there is a reason besides inflation but why the huge jump in HammersTorches ETC. ? Not complaining just want to understand. Thanks.

Yeah prices have definitely changed a lot over the last several years. A big reason is import restrictions and supply issues. Many corals like hammers and torches used to come in large amounts from places like Indonesia, but when exports were shut down for a while it created a shortage. At the same time demand in the hobby kept growing. Add in shipping costs, farmed coral pricing, and social media hype around certain strains and the prices went way up. Some have come down a bit recently, but they’re still way higher than they were years ago

Torches are cheaper now than they've been in quite a while.

I remember buying premium torches for 50 to 60 bucks. That was 15 years ago!

When I got back in the hobby 4-ish years ago I bought my first corals from a younger guy on here that was closing down a big frag system. Threw some torch for like $30 told me it was some expensive thing. I said thanks. All I can say now is thank God it survived the power outage crash back in July because I can't spend hundreds on a torch, or any single coral. I had no idea how expensive they had gotten.
