Harmful snails?

Hey folks,

I think I recall seeing on of these fellas in the past and when I asked, I was told that they are harmless. This is assuming that this is indeed what I was seeing back then.

I suspect that this are the same type of snail. One is much smaller than the other.

Can someone confirm what type of snail these are:

You are absolutely correct and now that I've heard the name again, I remember them as being harmless.

I call the toe nail slugs cause they look like a jacked up toe nail with that flat shell on they backs.

I have a bunch in my tank at work, and when i pointed one out to a coworker recently, i described it as a snail without a shell. She pointed to an empty astrea shell next to it and asked if that was where it came from.
