I have a small sump under a 55g and this seems to take up the least amount of space. Has anyone used this small footprint skimmer with the pump built under the body. How did it perform for you? Marineland has one that has been built into the body also, any feedback on that one? Thanks, Holley

hey holly i used the marineland one on a 75 a long time ago and it didnt pull much skimmate. that could be because the tank had a light-medium bioload only 5 fish in it but to me it just felt cheaply built and the lid on the collection cup was hard to remove to clean. and i also was not a fan of the screw on collection cup it was a pain to get it lined up just right so you could actually screw it on all the way. im not sure about the swc as ive never used one but i have heard good things about the company so i'd think it would be a good skimmer.

I had a bubble magus on my frag tank and it had a small footprint with pump inside and worked very well

I think you maybe right about the Marineland skimmer! Thanks

Edit: I looked at the NAC 3.5 bubble magus and liked it! Thanks

Edit: I will look up Reef Dynamics! Thanks

+1 on the bubble magus my friend that owns the lfs here in clarkesville uses a nac 9 on his main saltwater system which is about 250 gals and it works great. he and i looked for the perfect skimmer for at least a month if not more and we finally setteled on the nac 9 because it fit his needs best when considering price, space, ease of use and gal rating

I did read a review one time on someone who got the 120 and then said they wish they would have gotten the 160. That may not be the case with u but figured I would share the information.

We put a Bean overflow and a SCWD on the tank so the plumbing has taken up most of the room. Very little space!:D
