Heater placement

Does a heater have to go in a certain place in the sump or do I have multiple options? I’ve watched many videos in which heaters are stored in the skimmer chamber, but the chamber is too small for the heaters I’ve chosen. Below is a picture Of where I would like to store the heaters

You can put it wherever you'd like to. Just keep in mind that if it has a separate temperature probe, the probe needs to go upstream of the actual heating element.

Make sure they are in an area that the water level remains pretty constant. You don’t want to risk them getting exposed if your ATO runs out of water or failed for some reason.
