Hi All,

My name is Solona and I am definitely new to the hobby...I found a nano reef tank on Craigslist and decided I would try it out in my classroom. I teach high school chemistry in Peachtree City. I have always admired the beauty of reef tanks but never thought I would be able actually start one. I am taking this one as a personal project but also as an opportunity to show my students chemistry in action.

I look forward to being a part of the forum

Solona:yay:

Welcome to the club! What great way to get started and share the thrill! Hopefully you may encourage some of your students to become involved as well. Feel free to ask any questions or ask for help, lots of great people here willing to help out (both with answers and if you need in person).

I feel like I'm a chemistry student sometimes when I do a lot of water tests at once, I have all my chemicals out and am shaking things around...But on the other hand I really have no idea what's in those bottles or why that stuff happens, that would be nice to know! Oh, and welcome! You'll love it here.

Welcome Solona! I'm in/near PTC (near Starr's Mill HS)--I'll be glad to help you out however I can!

It is soo funny that you mentioned that... I lol when I saw that on the website. I did websearch and priced a tank...I wish I owned the patent on those.(lol)

I wish my name was lord of the acans.....yep......that would be pretty cool indeed. And my kids names could be micromussa.

welcome to the club! I can definitely tell you I've learned a lot about chemistry since starting this hobby!
